    Abstract: Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) is mainly used in machinery, molds, and other important areas of equipment, but equipment maintenance has been a high burden to the general education institutions. Therefore, this paper adopted Visual Basic programming language and virtual reality software kernel platform in building a virtual machine with machine CAD files provided by cooperated industrial machine builder. Development of a Virtual Reality WEDM simulator was aimed to replace the expensive machine and equipment to assist teaching, including the operation of controller, simulation of controller, NC program processing operation of teaching and training systems, and the users can detect errors to prevent the collision before real operation.
    Finally, this research sincerely hopes the users can improve the processing and understanding of a five axes WEDM that can have simultaneously four axes movement and to enhance the actual operation of related technology through this development.
