    The Current Trend in Transborder Cooperation of Film Industry in the Greater Chinese Area

    Abstract: 在媒體全球化的時代浪潮下,區域媒體市場的興起,擴大了媒體產業的經濟規模,仗得電影工業的跨國合作趨勢成為發展的熱點,特別是在亞洲,發展出以東方或者華人文化為市場訴求範疇的電影業跨國合作趨勢。本研究將分別從二個問題架構,來檢視亞洲華人電影市場與工業間的跨界流動趨勢:首先是,跨國媒體集團運用其大規模操作與全球發行系統,高度激化亞太華人地區的電影市場;其次是,在地電影業結合跨國媒體集團與跨界的業者,以國際合作及跨國合製的方式,進行國際市場的推廣。其中,政府的支援與政策,更是促成電影產業間國際合作重要的推手。The overwhelming tendency of globalization and the rise of the regional mediamarket has led to the fundamental changes of world media industry. Specially, withfilm industry in the greater Chinese area gradually becoming the focus of internationalmedia industry, media activities about international cooperation and co-productionhave been the most important way to enter Chinese market in Asia and introduce theinternational finance and productivity. This paper aims to examine the trend of filmindustries’ international cooperation and co-production in the greater Chinese areafrom the following problematic framework: the first, expanding the market domain ofTrans-national Media Corporations (TNMC): by means of international cooperationand co-production, TNMC eliminate barriers to entry and develop new markets. Thesecond, local media industry meeting the challenge of international competition: localmedia corporate actively look for the opportunity of international cooperation andco-production in order to expand foreign market and accelerate theinternationalization of enterprises. The local government legislate media policy andoffers guidance and supportive services in an effort to promote internationalcooperation and co-production of film industry.
