    Abstract: 近年來由於電腦網路快速的發展,在這資訊發達的時代,幾乎家家戶戶都有電腦,網路的應用範圍也逐漸由工、商、學術領域擴展至每個家庭,只要透過電腦便能做到「秀才不出門,能知天下事」,而鍵盤與滑鼠更是必要的輸入設備。對一般人來說,這些電腦輸入設備,只要練習幾次便能順利上手、運用自如,但對於身心障礙者來說,如腦性麻痺、脊髓損傷和運動神經元疾病等患者,卻都變成另一種障礙,由於種種的輸入限制導致無法有效的使用電腦,甚至喪失了追求新知的權利。目前腦性麻痺和脊髓損傷患者,在國內皆有自製的輔具幫助他們來使用電腦,如摩斯碼六鍵魔術鍵盤、嘴控輸入系統等,但運動神經元疾病的患者,在電腦輔具方面大多價格昂貴,且都需由國外進口,設備價格約需數十萬,這對於大多數的家庭來說都會造成很大的經濟負擔。末期的運動神經元疾病患者無法隨心所欲控制身體肌肉的動作,甚至連語言能力也會失去。因此本研究將針對運動神經元疾病,如漸動人或肌肉萎縮患者(Amyotrophic LateralSclerosis, ALS),運用眼球訊號(眼電圖)產生摩斯碼輸入訊號,讓他們能藉由眼球訊號來控制鍵盤或滑鼠等,使他們能清楚表達他們內心所想表達的事物,讓他們能跟照顧他們的醫生或家屬有一個有用的溝通工具。With the progress of information times, thecomputer is almost the basic equipment for every household. For the general people,using a keyboard and mouse to operate acomputer satisfy needs is a simple andconvenient thing. But foe the handicapped,such as the cerebral palsy and a person withsevere spinal cord injure result in thedifficulties when using the computer’scommon input media. However, there arestill many assistive tools provided to helpthem, such as keyboard guard, Magickeyboard (6 keys), Mouth-controlled Textinput system (McTin) and big trace ball etc..By contrast, the Motor Neuron Disease(M.N.D) cannot act on one's own easilywithout their relatives and friends’assistance, even more operating a computerto satisfy needs. This study purposes toprovide EOG eyes-controlled Morse codeinput device for individuals with the MotorNeuron Disease, such as AmyotrophicLateral Sclerosis (ALS). They can inputMorse code by their eyes to operate thecomputer and household appliances, such aslamps, fans, TV. Therefore, this study canprovide a useful assistive tool for a user withthe Motor Neuron Disease to communicatewith the general public.
