    Abstract: 本專題係利用過硫酸鹽氧化法氧化肟基纖維素,將肟基氧化為硝酸根離子,由硝酸根離子產量定量肟基纖維素的肟基含量。微結晶纖維素經表面改質反應所得產物肟基纖維素具有吸附水中重金屬離子之潛在應用價值,而肟基纖維素吸附水中重金屬離子的能力正比於肟基含量。本專題利用以加熱之酸性及鹼性過硫酸鹽水溶液氧化肟基纖維素,將肟基轉換為硝酸根離子。硝酸根離子濃度可以離子層析儀與紫外光吸收光譜儀加以計量;由所得硝酸根離子濃度即可計算肟基纖維素之肟基含量。實驗結果顯示,酸性加熱之過硫酸鹽水溶液即可氧化絕大部分肟基,雖然鹼性過硫酸鹽水溶液有效提高肟基纖維素之溶解度。另改質反應大多發生於表面,且纖維素表面的鏈易產生次反應而斷鏈或溶解於水溶液中,也因此利用離子層析儀定量硝酸根離子較不易受干擾。
