    In this paper, a novel bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed. The proposed bidirectional converter with high voltage ratio is used to transfer energy between battery and DC bus. When the converter is operated in the discharging mode, two inductors are charged in parallel and are discharged in series. It can step up battery voltage to DC bus voltage. When it is operated in the charging mode, two inductors are charged in series and are discharged in parallel. It can step down DC bus voltage to battery voltage. This paper first briefly introduces several bidirectional converters. Following that operating principles and steady-state characteristics of this converter will be analyzed. Finally, a laboratory prototype with battery voltage 24 V, DC bus voltage 200 V, discharging mode power 500 W, and charging mode power 264 W is implemented to verify the performance. The full load efficiency of discharging mode is 85.5%, and the full load efficiency of charging mode is 89.0%.
